What Speaker For: C6 w/ D3
-David
This is what I figured:
-D3
-Metra Dash Kit
-Sirius Tuner
-iPod Cable
-Speakers?
-Subs?
-Amp?
Basically I want the D3 w/ iPod and sirius connected to whichever aftermarket speakers you guys recommend but I don't know which is the best way to approach that...

For example:
1) Subwoofer. Are you looking for a clean and simple install. Would a sub box like a JL Stealth be something you want? Or are you looking to put bigger subs and want a larger box in the hatch? Basically, the stealth look or an obvious system look.
2) Speakers will vary. How much are you willing to spend? You can get some good quality speakers for $200-$500. The best way is to go out and compare for yourself. I heard JL Audio, I liked them and the price, so I am going to go that route. There is also Focal, Alpine, ect..
3) Amp. There are so many choices. But if you are trying to go for the stealth look, consider Alpine, they got some small sizes.
Things to add to your list.
1) Steering control module. Do you want to use your radio buttons on your steering wheel.
2) Harness module. This will be needed to connect to your HU to the factory harness.
3) Amp wiring kit.

2. I don't really know which speakers I like the best right now. I think pretty much anything would be better than bose I just want something that won't cost too much.
3. Amp - I want to go either as stealth as possible or as easy as an install as possible. Would I have to make some kind of amp rack? Has anyone ever put it behind the passenger seat?
Also I don't have steering controls and which module would I need to hook up to the aftermarket speakers?

I will be getting mine next week.

2) For the front speakers, I would go to to 6.5 inch component route. WWW.nakidparts.com sells the speaker adaptor for your door. Find a local stereo shop and try to get an idea of which ones you like. I would then order them online for the best price.
3) I got the Alpine and it's size is quite small. I am going to be installing it in the car within the next week or two. My plan is to put it behind the passenger seat (floor or the wall). My goal is not to have an Amp rack, I want it stealth as possible.
When you have a chance, check out my thread I posted. It goes over a lot of things that you are looking. I got a lot of good feedback from the members here.

For the factory harness adaptor, you need to do a search, there are a few options to choose from. Do you have Onstar & Bose ( I assume so since you said earlier).
I do have Bose but no Onstar so it really shouldn't make a difference right because I won't be keeping anything Bose anyways.

In regards to the harness, I believe that you will need this;
PAC ADD-GM24 Harness to add an amp

&
PAC AMP-RCA

That gmos-04 seems like a PITA...make sure you read all the threads on it beforehand..

.The good thing is that harness will plug into your factory harness and there might be slight modifications required. You should find the instructions with the harness or the guys will help.

GMOS-04 will work. That harness will allow you to connect your factory wires with the D3. Even if you keep your stock speakers or not.
If you are going to do it, do it right.
D3
Good quality front speakers w/ mounts
JL sub w/ Boxology
Amp (small but enough to power speaker and sub)
Harness (GMOS-04 or anything similar)
Check out http://www.sonicelectronix.com/
There prices are very good on most items. You should be able to get these items cheaper than you think. Plus you will save some money from Boxology.
