I think I'm finally going to get around to installing sound deadening material in my C6 this weekend and I want to make sure I have enough dynamat extreme to do the job.
My goal is to cover both doors with dynamat extreme and the rear area as well. Then I will go back and cover the rear area along with the front with the insulation kit from Crazy Cowboy.
My question for those of you who have done similar projects with your C6 is do I have enough dynamat to cover the areas I've listed above?
The insulation kit from Crazy Cowboy is pre-cut and covers the front and rear. As far as the dynamat is concerned I only have ~35 square feet of dynamat extreme.
My goal isn't to completely cover the car with Dynamat since I have the other insulation kit but I know the doors could use the dynamat and I figured it wouldn't hurt to double up on the rear area.
Go ahead and buy 100 sq feet. You will have enough for the back and doors and some extra for under the front when you install the Crazy Cowboy kit. When doing the doors be sure to do the outside skin too (windows up you can get to it ok.) It is a great idea to dynamat before the Crazy Cowboy kit.
Dynamat and Crazy Cowboy do different things and it is best to have both since you will be there anyway. There would be a very significant improvement with both compared to partial of each.

Thanks for the reply. I may go with another brand to finish out the other 70 square feet to reduce the amount of money being spent on this project. I got a great deal on the Dynamat extreme from a forum member on here but I bought all he had.
check raamat or secondskinaudio then. Secondskin being better, but higher priced.
I think I'll go with second skin but should I go with the regular Damplifier product or the Pro?
One of the reasons I planned to only dynamat the rear and doors with the amount of dynamat I currently have is the weight concern. Will 80 - 100 square feet of dynamat extreme/second skin add a lot of weight?
I used Raamat (doors, behind the seats, rear and outside of rear fender wells) , Ensolite ( everywhere), and complete Cowboy kit. The doors and behind the rear speakers is a PITA. I spent about 6 hrs per door. Good luck getting it done in a weekend. It's a hell of a lot of work, but you'll be happy with the results.

I won't be doing the entire project in a single weekend. I'm starting with the doors first since I've got major rattles in their. After that I'll start on the rear and front of the car.
Well I got the passenger door finished today after work. Major improvement! I had a annoying buzzing noise coming from that door and I had to yank on the handle to get it to go away... but it would come back after the next bump I hit.
Anyways that is gone now and the components in the doors sound better too. I also like the feeling of closing the door and it feeling rock solid.
If the weather is good tomorrow I will knock out the driver side door and tackle the rear part of the car this weekend. After that I won't have any time for a few months to work on this because our first baby is due this Monday.
Well the only problem I have so far is that I now can hear other rattles in the car now because the door buzz and rattles were loud enough to cover up the others. I planned to finished the drivers side door today but it's going to snow today (yes in Texas) and I dont have a garage to work in...
