unit in a 2008 Z06 1LZ without Bose? I would like to hear what is involved and if it can be done. Anybody know? My preference would be to go with the stock unit, but may have to go aftermarket. Thanks.

I've still yet to see anyone detail an install of the factory system into a non-factory NAV car, but there are so many units bought & sold that it seems someone must be doing it. That said, owning an '06 with factory NAV, don't bother. The factory unit has limited features, crippled searching features(you CANNOT look anything up while moving, no workarounds, even if you have a passenger), no bluetooth, no DVD, etc, etc, etc.

I will be pulling my factory NAV out this spring and installing an Alpine IVA-W205. The double-din aftermarket units look GREAT in the dash, work better and likely will cost you less than trying to kludge in a factory system.

I agree that there are many bought and sold, but I think that they all must have Bose and that must be the difference. If not, I would think someone would respond.

I hear what you are saying about the factory unit and agree, but I like the look and may have to go aftermarket if I can't get any info.

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it.
