I just would like to make sure that with what Crutchfield Gives me, All I will have to do is connect the Harness and go, it says I will lose the factory woofer, will I notice? They dont seem to hit that hard anyway.
yeah those would work, you can find for much less on ebay. install isnt that hard if you were gonna do the radio you can do door speakers. i recommend a coaxial over a component set if you arent adding amps
Good Article! Thanks! Can anyone recommend a specific set for me? A link even? I know nothing about sound and all that, just that I am unhappy with having a blown out speaker and a hideous (IMHO) Head Unit. Should I replace the Rear speakers with the same speakers as the door?
Honestly crutchfield is great for information, but their prices are way too high for an online retailer. you can find the same prices on the same equipment on the shelf at car audio stores, and if you talk to sales people they can really help you out to find what you want and get you good deals. if you are going to do your entire car with them they will usually drop the price for you anyway, making it cheaper than crutchfield. on the system I'm putting into my C5 I haven't paid full price for anything yet, but because they will do that for me I'm buying everything from the same place. if you look elsewhere online you can also find prices much better than crutchfield.
Since it doesnt sound liek you are adding an amp or any of that fancy stuff. Id go with coaxials front and back.
Polk db is what i recommend for running off of headunit power. The db651 is a 6.5" which would work great in the door if you got a bracket for them which you will for any speaker. And in the back go with the polks as well 6.5s for coupes, 5.25s for verts,frc,z06
You could always ditch the rears all together get some nicer compoentns up front and an amp to run them
