Hi there everyone. I am in the process of completely removing all speakers and head unit from my 1998 coupe. After removing the rear speakers and the door speakers I was wondering if there is anything else I will need to remove like amps, etc?
Also, can I use the stock wiring from the OEM speakers to run my new JL audio speakers? I noticed the stock speakers have a ton of wires running to them. How is this normally done by everyone that has done it?
Basically what I am getting at is I would like to see if any wiring information is out there to wire aftermarket speakers and a Pioneer AVIC-D3 with amps and subs? I am especially concerned with how to wire the speakers and the head unit to have everything working and installing it all.
you could in theory use the stock wiring but why would you want to. It is sooooo easy to run wires in the doors on the c5 its not worth using the old stuff.
Under the dash you will see a plastic plate where the wires run into the door just pry that plate back with a screwdriver and bam full access
I am kind of new to all this and so far I have removed all the carpeting and seats, etc. I am getting ready to insulate the car and install the new upholstery on the seats. If you guys have more step by step info on how to run the wiring, connect the head unit, and setup the speakers, that would be very helpful.
Thanks.
