Has anyone installed this IPod interface in a C6 with nav radio and XM? I've seen threads about mixed results from other IPod devices from Logjam Electronics, but I have searched the forums, and I could not find any reference to this unit.

Does anyone have any experience with it?

 

I just bought the ipod interface for my suburban. I am very happy with it so far. The only thing you might not like about it is, you might have to install a aux input.

I do. I purchased the SoundGate as my first attempt at iPOD interface. I immediately returned it. I did not like it as I had little to no control over my music. I could ONLY select playlists and then they could only be played randomly. Secondly, I had NO control through the iPOD while connected. Thirdly, it was more expensive than other solutions.

If you don't mind connecting into the GM harness like the SoundGate does, then the ONLY full featured solution out there (IMHO) is the PXAMG from Peripheral Electronics. I have had mine for 3 months now and am very glad I made the decision to switch out units.

The PXAMG does:

1. Select songs via album, artist, playlist, genre, etc.
2. Play random or not via the above categories
3. Charges the unit only when the car is on ... will not drain battery
4. Has additional inputs for AUX2 and HD Radio
5. Can add HD radio as a plug in from Peripheral
6. Allows full control of iPOD when used as AUX1 (instead of iPOD) input to radio.
7. Costs less than most solutions out there
8. Install can be done yourself by a forum's "How to" writeup
