A stock Bose system has the front speaker amps in the doors,so what is that thing in the rear trunk compartment? I changed out the front 3.5 and rear 5.25's and added a small amped sub. Sounds ok for me when I play CDS but Satilite is a little muddy as it has been all the time even before any changes. Would a good aftermarket H.U. make a noticable improvment in Satilite and F.M sound quality?

aftermarket would improve sound quality but cd will always sound better

I have one too. Drivers side metal with two wiring harnesses going into it. I think it is F-45 related? Mark

could be F45 I know of atleast 3 C5s that arent F45 and there are no boxes

Can you post a picture of the module, or box, you are referring to?

I would recommend an aftermarket head unit... they usually do make a big differnce in overall sound quality...
