I am installing a 3sixty.2, mostly to give me the ability to bandpass the 6.5" midbass, but I also like the time correction and equalizer as well as some other features. Now to my main question...
When I pulled the stock HU, I see that there are two PAC SNI Filters that the installer put in. They are connected to the line level outputs that were soldered into the wires of the HU, then the RCAs that go to the amps are connected to the SN1 Filters.
Are these filters something I need ?
Should I leave them, or remove them?
Rich, at Auto Essentials in Thousand Oaks, CA advised me to use the PAC SNI-1 filters only if there is noise, such as alternator whine, and that they do affect the signal.
I removed them, and there is no noise, but there is a dramatic increase in bass response. The sub and midbass drivers really came alive.
I would suggest to anyone, that you try your system without the filters. And if you do have noise, use them, as it may be the lesser of two evils.
