where should i ground my amp??

where should i ground my amp??
I am getting some feedback noise and i am thinking that it may have to do with my ground. Currently i have it grounded to the transverse metal pillar that separates the cargo area from the front. Is that maybe not a good place. Any suggestions ???

It's behind the plastic panel between the rear speaker and the door still. My amp is installed behind the passenger seat, so the ground wire is almost straight across.
