Default Metra iPod GM Adapter

Alright, so I have been searching the forum non stop trying to figure out just how I can hook my ipod up to the aux input of the stock radio and even though I came across a million posts, I am still confused with all the products available and all the different ways in which I can make the connection...Anyway here is what I did:

I bought myself a Metra ipod adapter, that is supossed to plug right into the back of the head unit...well it doesnt quite fit...So now I took my whole console apart, which is a pain, and I have to do something before I put it all back together with no ipod connection or I will feel like a failure...

Can anyone shed some light on what I can do???

Here are a few details:

2000 C5 Coupe
w/ CD Changer (stock radio has cd player)

Are you sure it doesn't plug into the cd changer plug?

From what I can see on the picture shown, I think it has the wrong connector. Take a look at the pxhgm4 shown in this thread:

Do you have a CD changer, maybe it is meant to plug into there. Most adapter units need that.

If you want to hook up an ipod, I recently bought an aux2car and a pxhgm4 from discount car stereo. I just finished the install and it all seems to work okay, but I think my battery is on its way out so it is causing some problems. I am still trying to figure out the problem, but that stuff cost me ~ $115 with shipping. This was the cheapest way I could find it you didn't have a CD changer prewired.

IMO tap the cdchanger line and run it to a cable that pugs into the dock connector, will be cheaper, you will control from the ipod which IMO works 1000x better

Default This may help...

I have a 2004 with trunk cd changer. I was able to hard wire my non ipod mp3 player using a 3pdt switch, a 3.5mm jack, and some extra 3 braid wire. Search "mp3 install" in Tech forum. Email if you have questions
