is there a DIY on how to remove the center console? and what is the easiest way to pull up the trunk carpet without tearing or ruining anything? looks to me like you remove the back (by where the trunck latch is) and then just pull the carpet up... is that it? ohh this is for a c6 z.
The only clips are around the chubby doors. Those just pop out. Then you can pull it out from under the rear speaker panels.
all i need is the very back between the cubbys. can you explain or have a pic of these clips? i want to lay down some MDF so i can mount my amp there but i do not want to screw through the metal.

The clips are simply push-pins. Just pull the carpet up starting at each corner around the cubbys and you'll feel them give. Doesn't take much pressure to pull them loose.
Depending on what you're doing you may need to remove the carpet piece across the vertical back of the trunk/hatch. There are 4 screw caps that need to be removed, then you just pull the carpet out. You have to feed the trunk & door pull handles through the slits in the carpet and disconnect the 2 light harnesses (one on either end) to remove it completely.
You probably CAN get the bottom piece out without taking about the back piece, but my guess is it will be easier to work if you remove the back piece as well.

AWESOME! exactly what i need. the amp isn't that large it is an older punch 200 amp. it's like 10x10 without the end caps. i am gonna use 2 strips of like 12x3 and run them where the amp screws down and use some of that new loctite power grab tape. and then screw the amp down to the two boards through the carpet. so if i ever want to i can remove the amp and the MDF strips.
