Just got a new Kenwood Dnx 8120 and I was wondering what am I going to need for the installation.
I believe the 8120 comes already for Bluetooth but do I need a hook up for the Ipod What about the hook up to the antenna? I am having the front and rear speakers upgraded. I am not looking to do an AMP as I don't need the music to blast. Or do I need an AMP?

First off you will need a DD radio bezel. Either you will have to fabricate it yourself or buy one from the C5 KIDD for @ $400. You will need to buy Kenwood KCA-iPod 500 for the iPod hookup. It may be bluetooth capable but I am not sure that it comes with it. I had to buy the Kenwood BT200 for my KVT-719DVD. Its a single din so I didn't have to modify the radio bezel. I bought the Focal 165KF speakers for the front and the 130 CA1 for the rear. As far as an amp is concerned it really helps with the sound. I bought the Alpine PDX5 and add a subwoofer in the rear. I bought the box for it and the speaker plates from a forum member. If you go in that direction use subthumper on this forum to buy them. Good luck in whatever you do.
Lots of question! First, read through the installation manual and specs. As for tools you need basic tools, some wire crimpers, those crimp tubes (not sure of the technical name) to attach the wires together. You will need an Ipod cable to hook up the ipod. There is a place to plug your ant. wire into the unit. Amp will depend on the speakers you're buying.
Thanks for the input. The IPOD KCA IPOD 500 will it take the CD changer slot? I plan on running a Kenwood 10 CD changer with the system. Do I need a special adapter for the C5 antenna or do I just plug it in? The Focal Speakers are VERY RICH. Looking for a reasonable ones. I have the DD already to go.
Thanks again

The iPod cable should have a connection cable that should go through so you can add the CD changer. You do need the adaptor for the antenna to connect to the Kenwood. I would check out your local car audio place or places to hear which speakers sound the best for your price range. You might want to look into adding an amp and a subwoofer. It makes a huge difference in sound. Good luck
hi fred
on you new kenwood you will need their ipod to usb cable sold seperatley.
as far as the 10 disc the kenwood changer will plug right into the port in the back of radio
