Just talked to Crutchfield and they authorized a return for my Pioneer P4000UB, I was just overall not satisfied with the Preset Equalizers, and the sound quality in general of the H/U. My Question is, what should I replace it with. I did a LOT of research before I bought this H/U and everyone seemed to love it except me. I am thinking about this one http://www.crutchfield.com/S-A3fW2j9...ecelon+KDCX492
Which is the Kenwood eXeclon or something, anyone have any experience? Or can suggest another one? Thanks.

What's the rest of your system? The head unit is one of the smallest contributors to the sound(speakers 1, amp 2, head 3) so you may be banging your head on the wrong part of the equation.
I have 4 6.5 Polk Audio db651 going around. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated (changing speakers is not really an option because they were just put in) I have tried MP3 Cd's, Running MP3 straight off of the USB stick, and Cd's. The Cd's have far superior quality, and I have tested many different MP3 files.
I am not sure if this Kenwood would do you any better than the pioneer. They both have a set of "preset EQ settings" with a 3 band EQ to make your own. Did you use only the preset EQ settings on the Pioneer or did you try to fine tune it yourself with the manual 3 band? I guess what I am saying is, if the manual 3 band on the Pioneer didn't work for you, the manual 3 band on the Kenwood is probably going to be the same.
If you need more fine tune, try the Pioneer P6000UB. It has a 7 band EQ for greater control and fine tuning.
I guess part of my problem is that I really dont know what all the fine tuning does. I find myself re tuning on a daily basis. The presets that the H/U came with are not even CLOSE to what I am looking for in sound. I pretty much get everything except what the difference between 2W and 2Q and 1N are (may have gotten those wrong)
