Somebody told me this sub won't work with my box
Memphis M3 10" going into a custom box for my Z06 (c5) rear cargo compartment. He said he can tell just by looking at it. Mounting depth is only 5.5". Depth of box is 8". I don't get it. Any thoughts?? Said soemthing about getting it to fit over a ledge..i dunno

Ya like Teddy said, you are going to have to build a false floor to get that magnet above the narrow hump in the cargo area ... but hey that is a perfect excuse to flush in the amps at the same time!
By false floor I mean that you are raising the area that the sub mounts to in order to give you the clearance needed to get that sub to fit in the rear cargo area.
Another option would be to "volcano" it, like Kale did. Do a search on Kale's install to give you an idea, but I think he mounted a 13w7

I can't say for certain that it won't fit. However I have a flat top box with an 12" IDQ that is only 5.65" deep that BARELY cleared at the "ledge" where the cargo area falls into the lowest rectangular shaped area. This is with a .5" thick birch box custom shaped.
My IDQ has no where near the magnet diameter that that sub has .. which I believe will be the problem. Subthump ( I don't like them, but hey they do make boxes) I think has a sloped top box that is designed to accommodate larger sub assemblies.
Do your research and open your trunk to measure both depth at the narrowest point from "flat" with the surrounding carpet, and width available at that narrowest point.
Trust me when I say that the z06 cargo area is not an automatic pass to a plug and play sub setup .. although it is a hell of a lot easier than what the c6 guys have to deal with. You just have to pick your box and sub combination to work with the space, or go custom.

So I found out that is a 12" sub in the pic and that is the old sub. They have resdesigned it for 08. If somebody has time, go to
http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/ and click on products, subwoofers, and go down to 10" M3.
They don't have a direct link for it you have to go through it like that.
