Power to Aftermarket Head Unit
Man, I know this has been discussed to death, but I'm not having any luck.
I installed the JVC KD-ADV49 (The Arsenal version of the KD-AVX44). It's really not that good...but I'm going to live with it for now. If anyone wants to hear my gripes, I can post a review and some pics.
The thing that really angers me (because it should be simple) is that the power turns off when I take the key out. I bought the Soundgate adapter, and a lot of posts here state that it will keep the Retained Access Power. The instructions have the trigger wire (red wire) connected to the brown wire in the ignition switch. I have that wired up, but when I turn the key off, the radio turns off.
I've read a lot of posts about the yellow wire in the passenger footwell, but that seems to be switched to the key also. I've also read that fuse #22 is a good place to tap in to, but will that give me the same problem?
There should be a simple solution, but I just can't seem to find it on these forums. It's not that big of a deal...but it's really annoying.
If it's already been posted here, and I just can't find it...someone please point me to the right place.
