Default C4 - What needs to be modified?

I have a 89 Bose. It still works fine but I can't hear it because the car is so loud. (search snakecharmer383 on youtube to listen) I have searched and have found different answers and some are from years ago.

I think I'm going to go with Alpine (never had problems in the past) speakers. I was planning on 6.5" in the door. Now will these fit right in or will I need to change or modify anything. I was going to go with 6x9's in the rear. I want to be able to keep the stock speaker grills in the car for a stock look. So with that what will fit in the doors and rear with out modifing anything or cutting up the grills.

HU I was going to try to find a JVC KD-AVX33. It is 50x4

I'm ready to start buying the equipment...thanks in advance guys.

Snake,
To fit the 6-1/2" speakers into the doors, you will need to remove the speaker "pods" that are in there now, and make a set of speaker plates.
To fit 6x9's in the rear, you will need to do some work on the rear speaker pods, as the speakers in them are 6-1/2" round speakers. It is easy to put 8" subs back there, and the stock speaker cover will still fit over them, making it a completely stealth installation. You will need to run a small amp, which given your noise problem, would not be a bad idea. You should also consider doing some sound deadening to quite down the inside of the car.

Thanks for the quick response. What will fit in the door without modifying anything...5.25?? I really don't wanna screw with the door that much. Just put something better in. I have read about the 8" subs in the rear which I would like but I was trying to not go with a amp. I'm also concerned that with the subs and only a 6.5 or 5.25 in the door there would be no high's or mid's.

I already have 2 Alpine amps and 2 stinger bass blockers from a previous system.
