Default Pioneer F90BT

2008 Corvette with factory nav-

Installed the F90BT and so far I love it! Seems user friendly, bluetooth works perfect so far, after a couple of test calls the phone works great and the other party says sounds clear and clean. I was doing 70 at the time. Start up time is about 45 seconds which is a little slow but I can live with it. IPOD works great and sounds even better. We decided to flush mount a rear view camera and I know some guys will think I'm crazy to drill the rear bumper but I think it turned out OK and it works and looks better than expected.
So far no freeze ups or problems but it's only been used for about 1 hour total. GPS seems to work good but no real test yet so we will see.

The inmotion hack has been found and I can tell you it works! Everything works including DVD and rear veiw camera...
One thing for sure, a big inprovement over the factory nav!!!
Here's how she looks and as always pics don't look as good as in person... With XM, rear view camera, installed it was $1,950.00

Looks good. I have mine going in next week with some focals, JL stealth box and Alpine PDX 4.50.

So you haven't had any of the issues that people are complaining about on Avic411.com??

Bluetooth is clear, no lockups, no 3 minute boot time, ipod doesn't need to be disconnected constantly?

So far bluetooth works perfect, no lockups at all, about 45 seconds max boot time and last radio station comes on within a couple of seconds while nav boots up. Tried my sons first gen Ipod and the F90 would not recognise it. But he now has the touch Ipod and it works fine. Drove home yesterday and in the 45 minuet drive there where no issues at all. I need to read the book because there are so many features that I keep stumbling on... Time will tell!!!

Does the rear view camera also take 45 seconds to boot up, or does it kick right on immediately.

45 seconds is not a long time to wait, but I am sure that most of us start it right up and throw it in reverse from a parking lot. Thanks for the info.

Not sure, I'll have to try it. I always park backwards in my garage.
My install guy talked me into the flush mount camera because he says it is the best on the market, day and really good at night...

Does this work with the existing bose amps and speakers???

How does it sound compared to the factory Nav.

Also could you post a pic of the Ipod interface.

Much appreciated.

Yes with the proper adapter.

I think it sounds better, maybe partly because you can set it how you like through it's EQ.

No pic of the Ipod but it just has a cable in the center glove box. That seems to be the best place for it! Easy to get to and out of sight when your traveling...
There are adapters for steering wheel controls, bose hookup, Ipod, HD radio, ( I did not do this one yet ) and XM, plus as you can see a backup camera.

Nice!!! Stupid question but does it come with a 6 disc or at lest a big hard drive to store music on? I know you might not know but how expensive are the map upgrades.

Single disk. Don't think you can store music on the hard drive. No nav disk is needed so there is hard drive space just not sure if it can be shared. You can install pics through an SD card. There is a 189 page owners manual on line so I'm still learning. Here it is by the numbers...

Ipod, USB storage device can play any added music other than the cd slot. Not sure but I think the sd card is considered a source as well.

You can play music and videos off the SD card. There are a ton of hacks for these units, map upgrades and what not. Just always back up your software before trying anything

the drive is a dvd so 4.7gigs of music
the sd card slot is the high capacity compatable (there is a limit on the number of folders/files but I have a 16gig in mine without issue.
the usb can take a usb drive also (have not tried this)

all in all a great unit I have 1 in my tahoe and 1 in the C5
I installed a kenwood in my sisters tahoe and can tell you I like the f90bt a whole lot better.

the boot time is a little slow but upgrade to the latest software it is faster. the rear view camera works great (the older software is a little slow in booting up)

enjoy!
