Ok recently i just finished getting a full built s/c motor put into my car. During red lights ill watch my volts drop down from 13.5 to 11.5 volts in a matter of seconds.
I have a complete system sitting in my room atm. Pioneer D3, boston 6" components for front and just basic coaxs for the rear. I have a 12" JL W6V2 with a kenwood 1800watt amp just collecting dust.
I plan to purchase a yellow top over the new ac delco battery i got from warranty work couple months ago(the current alternator was replaced along with all the wires connected to them), but is there anything else i can do to keep my volts from dropping so low, dont wanna take a chance my car shutting off from listening to music. Ive tried googling bigger amp alternators to no avail. Tried using search function and found threads that didnt make mention to nothing i seek. Any help would be greatly appreciated, cause id gain some space back in my house, and i can finally enjoy listening to music and not the blose crap.
Its a Valeo alternator. My grounds are fine. Its just weird riding around with it hanging at 11.5v, leave it alone for a couple hours and it'll stay at 13.5 for at least 15-20min then slowly go back down to 11.5.
Today i had the hood open, nice breeze going, nothing on(no a/c, radio, etc)..and the needle kept floating from 11 to 12, close hood start driving back above 13, soon as i stop back down to 11s.
Their an after market company that makes a more heavy duty alternator, or something more resistant to heat?
your voltage shouldnt be that low do you have an UD pulley or something. With no stereo there is no reaosn for voltage drop into the 11s. Hell ive done some big systems without the big 3 and it was fine
All the pulleys are stock. I used to have a billet tensioner pulley but that got taken off in place of the procharger bracket. and even stock it was having the voltage drop problem.

Ohio generator and Mean Green both make HO alternators...however they're more expensive than an OEM replacement from GM running $500+ depending on the amperage you want.
