Default not loud enough

Im in the process of installing a JVC headunit in my 99 FRC. I purchased the peripheral interface, believe I have everything hooked up correctly but when I turn up the volume I have to turn it up all the way to hear it and its not very loud and starting to get distorted. I have messed with the individual gain ***** on the peripheral piece and they are maxed out. Are the Bose amps not turning on or something else? Im pretty sure I have the remote amp switch hooked up. Thanks

IMO I think you should just do it right. Replace the factory speakers and use an amp. You could get amp and speakers for around $300 +

have it wired as the instructions say matching the four speaker's wires together through the peripheral unit, have the grounds connected (should i run a seperate body ground into them?) have the switches set to wired and wired (gets little bit louder when set to rca, which i think means that the bose amps arent turning on) and have the individual speaker levels maxed out. Thanks

the input should be wired and set the output on rca
the amp is turning on, if it wasnt you would have no bass output at all from ur bose subs. The amp is only for bose subs, if your regular speakers arent getting loud enough then you need more power

Your radio may have an internal amp it it, I shut mine off on my Kenwood on accident and had similar issues.

wire your ipod or other device that has rca outputs directly to the SVEN4 peripheral interface. this will tell us if it's a problem with your head unit or the sven4.

ok I just rewired it bypassing the interface and Im still just not happy with the sound, so I will be installing an alpine 4 ch amp and a set of 6.5 components up front and idk about the back yet. So I guess I now have another question (ya I know) what all is requried to install a set of 6.5 components up front and use the stock speakers from the alpine amp? Thanks again

I am using an aftermarket Kenwood Stereo with the Bose Speakers. The Bose Speakers sound like Crap.

Anybody who uses any aftermarket radio needs to ditch the Bose speakers.
