Default Question on Avic systems

Hi all --

I have an Avic d1 in my C5. I'm thinking of upgrading it to a D3 or maybe one of the new F700BT units; my question is are the units plug-and play in regard to the harnesses and connections, or will I have to remove the D1 harness, antennas, etc and run all new wiring? If it's just a matter of popping the D1 out and sliding a F700 in, I'd be so psyched.

I doubt it, but I think your best bet would be to call an audio shop, or even Pioneer directly.

If you only have to splice in the harness your lucky.

You might hit the jackpot and just plug the stuff in.

I am sure you can find info or request what the plug differances are (if any) between the models.

Yea, I like that too, but the D3 has a much better ipod interface. I have the D3 in my other car, and with my ipod hooked up I've never even wanted to put a CD in the stereo.

At this point, I would not suggest going with the F700BT.
