Mom just bought a 08 Cadillac CTS with Nav. This is the first GPS system in the family and it's so freaking cool. I have an Alpine IVA D310 fold out touch-screen in my car and want to install navigation. Any suggestions for alpine nav units that are compatable with my system?
I have the dock in several vehicles that have Alpine head units. I can move the Blackbird between vehicles. It also comes with a windshield mount that lets you use it as a standalone system. It's a pretty decent system. I have owned it gong on 2 years and have been pleased with it.

What all is required to interface the blackbird with an alpine head unit?
Has anyone on this forum linked the BB to their Alpine screened HU? I'd love to see screen caps.
I have the Blackbird B200 docked in my IVA-W205 in my DD truck. To be honest, the NAV is just OK and that's about it. I honestly think the GM NAV that's in my brother's 2007 Acadia is easier to use and provides more clear driving instructions than the Blackbird, but the Blackbird is better than the stock C6 NAV system. None of them come close to being as good as Garmin, which is why I eventually overcame my reluctance to buy Kenwood and have an 8120 awaiting install in my C6.
After all that ramble, here's what it comes down to. If you want it integrated into your Alpine screen the Blackbird is the way to go (their other system is ridiculously priced, large and difficult to install and pointless to my mind). The system does work and it isn't bad, it's just not as good as some others. However if what you want is the best NAV and don't mind it hanging from the windshield or sitting in a cup holder (remember, fibreglass roof, the antenna can "see" right through it) then go grab a Garmin Nuvi. If you can swing the $, get one that reads the street names, that's very helpful on busy streets where you don't want to take your eyes off traffic & the road.
