Default Advice needed: Parrot CK3100 install ?'s

Hi All,

I have decided on the Parrot CK3100 for my blueteething needs in my '06 C6. In anticipation of the install by a dealer, I have popped my console out (a lot easier than many threads would have you believe) so now I am wondering if I should just buy and install the CK3100 myself.

If someone could point me to EXACTLY the correct wires to cut, splice, connect, intercept, etc. and the place for the underdash unit that makes the most sense, I could save a bunch of $$$$ and also have the satisfaction of having done it myself.

Any experienced installers wanna help me out?

Thanx in advance - - -

dont pay to have it done and buy the harness thats plug and play, why risk an issue from cutting a wrong wire etc

http://www.quickconnectproducts.com/Find/find.php

150 or so but no cutting at all involved and as an installer i wouldnt trust someone to cut and wire one in unless they knew the car

The harness is pricey for sure, but you're also buying peace of mind.

You still get the DIY satisfaction but that way nobody is cutting or tapping any wires in your 'Vette!

Thanx, fellas, I am on my way. I ordered the CK3100, and the QuickConnect harness. For my NON-Bose standard radio, the harness is only $60 (still a lot for some wire and connectors).

And I dropped by the auto parts store to get the add-a-circuit, and used the Fluke multimeter to confirm that the heated seats/wiper relay fuse in the fuse block under the passenger toe board (see Post # 8 below) is indeed +12VDC ignition-switched power.

I also popped the driver-side A-pillar cover off to confirm that I can run the microphone wire up to mount the mike at the top of the A-pillar, aimed at my face.

Now I am just waiting for the UPS and FedEx drivers to make their deliveries . . .

If you are getting an add-a-circuit for the heated seat/wiper relay fuse under the passenger toe board, be sure to get one for the little ATM fuses used in that fuse block, like THIS ONE from Amazon.com also available in your local auto parts store.

Default The correct fuse

Check out www.safewireless.com for harnesses, they are less expensive.
They had a free shipping code that I used too.

. . . in Heated Seat / Wiper Relay location:

Attn: 6splitwindow3, thanx for link to www.safewireless.com for both harness and for microphone windscreens (my other thread )

By the way, I had seen a couple of references to three spare wires, orange, yellow, and black, taped to the wiring harness at the upper left of the BCM. I looked around but could not see them. If anyone has a photo, preferrably in a 2006 C6, please post it in this thread. Thanx in advance

odds are they assume base c6 has no amp at all which it does, i guess there is a slight poss it will work but you may get popping noises and the parrot might be very loud, please post back on this

See my SUCCESS thread: CLICK HERE.

Yes, it was loud with the cheap harness at first start up, but turning the internal Parrot volumes all the way down made it tolerable for a Vert.
