I posted this in another forum.....Hopefully someone can help......I had a Pioneer AVIC-D3 installed in my car a few weeks back......Not happy ....For some reason it made the system sound about 2/3 as good as the base system head unit....The base sounds distorted, I have to turn the volume way up to get the volume that I could get with the stock radio at 2/3 of a turn. It also sounds like the rear speakers aren't putting out 1/4 of what they did before.....Anybody know why this is???? I've tried every EQ configuration possible with negative results.
FYI....The car is an 07 non Bose, non NAV, non Onstar.
I'd hate to put the stock radio back in to get beeter sound
its not the radio its how it was installed probally, what harness did they use to install it
Yeah, I figured that. I'm not sure about the harness, but if helps at all, the beep when I lock and unlock the doors from inside is gone, along with the beep from the traction / Comp. Driving button....From what I understand there are 2 different harnesses you can go with, one allows all beeps and dings to retain, the other causes issues like I have......? I really don't care about that, I just want my sound back.
Just found my receipt.....It's the Metra GM0S04 2006c Harness.
That is the correct harness, but they hooked something up wrong for sure. That harness should absolutely be giving you chimes! If you had that "professionally" installed then they need to fix it cause there's NO WAY the stock radio should sound better.

Thanks...Thats what I figured. It was professionally installed . I'm going back today for the second time to try to have them make it right
I took the car back in to where the AVIC was installed. They discovered that the Metra harness needed to be adjusted apparently......I guess there is a volume adjustment on it or something on it......It sounds great now!!!!!...Thanks guys!
