Default Question?

My apologies in advance....I have read most of the FAQ's and posts and haven't got a straight answer....

I have the base radio head in my 2007 C6 Coupe.....one CD slot and no XM based on what I can tell.....

I am basically happy with this system as to sound for now.....however, I would like to add either an IPOD interface or Sirius tuner......

The face of my unit has an AUX button, but doesn't do anything that I can tell and the owners manual doesn't say much about it.

My Question is this: Is the aux button for an optional cd changer and if so, is there a connection for this on the rear of my stock unit where I could connect one of those aftermarket IPOD interfaces?

Comments and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Keith

Many thanks for the reply....my local circuit city guy seems to think there should be an interface outthere depending on what plug is on the back.....thought someone out there might have done this.....I like your idea of the 2008 head....but if that is like my wifes....it only has a 3.5mm pin input.....no dispay on the radio or anything like that....

Thanks again for the reply!

Krf,

I have a base coupe too (no-BOSE) and the AUX input on the face of the radio works by hooking up an Ipod (in your case) with a 1/4 jack.
You will not be able to control the ipod via the radio, so you basically have to contol the ipod unit its self using its own controls (or via a remote). The AUX triggers on once you insert a 1/4 jack into it. The Headunit dispalys that an auxillary input has been detected.

Hope this helps.

Got it.....I assume that your head is a 2008-2009 based on it's having an aux input on the front....

I "borrowed" these pics from eBay, but this is my 2007 Coupe stock head and what I think it would look like if I had the guts to pull it out.........I suspect the 3 connections on the back are 1) Antenna , 2) Factory wiring harness, and 3) CD Changer??????

If one of those is indeed a fatory cd changer.....maybe one of those aftermarket interfaces could make the stock head think the Ipod is a Cd changer.......comments?

Has anyone out there actually done this? If so which unit did you use???

Anyone????.........Buehler?????
