Sub Amp Installed In Sub Box?

Sub Amp Installed In Sub Box?
I just purchase an amp to power a 10" sub that I am pretty sure will fit in the sub box's 10" opening. Would this be advisable? I am not a big thumper, not sure if that makes a difference.

The only way I would do it would be someway like this. I would not put the amp inside the box with the sub due to the reasons Kale posted.

2 big reasons:
a) cooling: in a sealed box your amp would overheat very quickly. even in a ported box, you'd still have some cooling issues
b) sound pressure waves on the inside of the box wreak havoc on electronics over time.

I would agree with my fellow audiophiles. Heat would be a main issue. Even if you are not a basshead, it will still get hot. Furthermore, an amp over time will need to be adjusted but when enclosed you do not have that availability. Put the amp behind the pass seat or under it. Thats a very simple install.

I will also have to agree with the others....... inside the box itself is NO place for an amplifier. I have my amp mounted behind my passenger seat, stays cool and its very easy to adjust.
