My friend had a Clarion single CD player(Pro Audio...don't remember the p.n.) installed recently. Now.... all is well except when putting in labeled CD-R's(They don't always come out easily). He was told by the installer...it's a very tight tolerance for dirt/dust prevention and it was NORMAL. I'd never heard of such a thing. My Mom's Honda Mini-Van has a single disc,as does My Father's Volvo... NEVER a problem.
Does that sound nutty to you? Of course non-labeled CD's eject fine. The fact that a label is .003 thick makes me scratch my head.
The thickness is the problem and yes this is a common problem for some cd players. I was never very keen on the clarion quality and it may not be able to handle the difference.

When I used to compete I had a DRB9175L Clarion Pro Audio cd player. I had some test discs labeled as you've described, and to be blunt the Clarion ejection system half the time would spit the disc half way out then suck it back in for about 3 cycles before I'd get pissed off and rip the cd out. The Clarion Pro-Audio line is good for sound quality and general purpose, however their service, performace in general use, and repair just plain sucks!!
