Replacing Fac. Nav w/Pioneer AVIC unit?
I'm about to purchase a car with Bose and factory Nav. Given that the ipod / bluetooth options are almost nil with the stock nav unit, I'm contemplating one of the newer Pioneer AVIC units as a replacement. Can anyone who's made the swap comment on if the sound quality is as good or better than the stock unit after the replacement? I thought I had read a thread somewhere where someone had commented that the sound wasn't great and that they ended up gutting the rest of the stock system. If this is necessary, then the swap would not be too enticing.

the stock bose in my silverado sounded allot better with the AVIC Z1 than with the stock headunit.

I've got the AVIC Z-3 with Bose...it sounds good at normal volume...but gets slightly distorted if I really crank it up...I will probably end up upgrading speakers and adding a sub and amp.
