Default Best Double-Din Nav/DVD/MP3 unit for the money?

I am looking to spend around $500-$700 or so on a headunit that will have good Nav, DVD playback and MP3/ipod hookup, I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I was looking at Kenwood DNX7100 and this other one I found made by Dual http://reviews.cnet.com/car-gps-navi...-32868943.html

Was wondering on your guys input? Which unit is the best bang for the buck out there? This is going into a Non Bose 05 C6.

Thanks for any help

The best NAV out there is Garmin so therefore if NAV is of primary concern Kenwood is a no-brainer. You may be selling yourself short on budget there though, dunno if you can get a 7120 for $700.

I was actually leaning towards kenwood also, Nav is a very important feature (70% of the reason I want one), Ill check them out, whats the major difference between the DNX7100 and DNX7120 I know the face/buttons are different, any other features?

I picked up a new Pioneer AVIC Z2 on eBay for $800.

So far, so good!

Kenwood 5120 is where it's at. I actually like the layout better than the 7120 and 8120 and it's cheaper. I have a 7120 but the only reason I didn't get the 5120 is I wanted the HD radio module and at the time they were having issues with the 5120s firmware on the unts they had in stock but the new ones have that issue resolved. If I was building my system now I would probably get the 5120 even though I am very happy with the 7120, I like the interface on the 5120 slightly better. Slightly smaller screen than the 7120/8120, but you have a nice volume ****, larger buttons for func, nav, etc and you don't have to tilt the screen just to load a CD/DVD. Customized colors is cool too. The 7120/8120 has blue and red for the buttons which matches the C6 lights perfectly but would not look as good in other vehicles that use other colors. Kenwood uses Garmin Nav and if you have an Ipod the Kenwood Ipod interface is bar none.

If you wanna save some cash and have a top NAV unit, pick up a Pioneer AVIC Z1 and upgrade the HDD to the new Z3.

I just bought a used, for 3 months, 7100 on the auction site for $600 shipped. crutchfield has refurb ones also. It is a great deck. I didn't need the bluetooth with the 8120

I just had the JVC KW-NX 7000 installed last week and even though I'm still feeling my way around it it seems outstanding. The nav system is great it can even monitor you speed if you ever let someone drive your car. Check it out also the entire face is removeable.

Double Din fits which cars? I have a C5, and I believed it is a Din and Half. Is that correct? I was having lots of trouble finding Din and Half sized units.
By the way, I have used Garmin units (several) for some time and agree they are the best, and if nav is a priority, that makes Kenwood the choice.
Can someone list the sizes for C4, C5?

Thats correct, C5 is 1.5 DIN. you would have to modify the bezel and brackets to fit a 2 DIN. The JVC unit that Leonm47 mentioned is a single din and will fit without modifications.

That's incorrect, the JVC NX7000 is a double dinn unit. Shouldn't be hard at all to get a double dinn into the stock location however so i wouldn't steer clear of a unit cause of this. The JVC on paper seems to have some awesome numbers and really good reviews. I am probably going to go with this unit on my next project.

to put a dbl din in a C5 requires remolding the bezel, cutting of some factory brackets and fabbing mounts. its not a simple one hour job for someone with no experience

Can anyone chime in about the Pioneer 90 or 900bt? How are those in comparison to the kenwood?
