Hi. I'm almost ready to buy a 2002 coupe. I'm planning on (ahem) fixing up the stereo, and have a few questions. What does it look like behind the rear speakers? I understand that they are 6.5" round. I've read the "Bose stereo upgrade" stuff from 99HT, and have decided to put Boston Acoustic component speakers in the doors, a 4-channel amp, and either component speakers in the factory rear speaker location (for bass), or a sub in the rear center storage area. If I can get with something like Image Dynamics IDQ6 speakers in the factory spots and have it sound decent, it'd be better than making the whole center storage space into a sub box.
Specifically, how much space is there behind the rear factory speakers? Is it sealable/can a small box be built there?
I haven't found any good pictures online from anybody that has done rear speaker work. Since I don't have the car yet, I can't investigate it myself.
