My plug on the rear of my base unit looks the same as that Navi unit, and my head does have the "CD/AUX" button. Would this work as a "two step' button??
Edit: Sorry, the link I posted was wrong I copied and pasted, but my s-box computer pasted a link that I had copied earlier. Fixed now.
Also, car is a BASE '06 C6. Thanks

my understanding is you can but it may not work and then you have to go to the dealer and have them use the techII and turn on the sat radio on ur radio
Sweet! Well I can do that easily enough. If I did that would the "CD/Aux" Button become a "two step" button? i.e. one push gets you CD, second push gets you the aux line-in?
i would think that is how it works, if u poke around and search i know i have seen threads where ppl have added xm to a non xm base stereo c6 and had a tech II used to turn it on and it worked. if i recall within the last few weeks someone posted about it, i wish i had more info for you
with that said i knwo the plugs on the back of the base and navi units are the same with the exception of navi antenna, etc.
basically there are 2 main plugs the one that feeds the amp and one for onstar/xm to be routed into the radio and both radios contain those same plugs
O.K. That is great info. I kind of forgot about adding XM to the base stereo, but that is a good point and it would work the same way. Thanks a bunch for the input!
