Default PIE Auxiliary Input Connector, GM10-AUX Problem

My battery died in my '04 and when I replaced it my Aux input stopped working. I was using it to play my iPod and now nothing. I tried to hit the cd changer button on the stock head unit but nothing happens.

It used to show the disk 1 track 1 display while playing the ipod but now it does nothing.

Anyone know a way to trouble shoot this? Anything I should check? I have already checked the connections between the harness and the Aux-10 and the RCA cables and they all seem tight.

Anyone?

I guess that is worth a shot. I had a factory changer so I originally just pulled the changer and plugged it in the end of the factory harness.

I will go back through he FAQ.

Thanks

Yep it was there. Post #9

Trouble getting your stock head unit to recognize GM10-Aux?

Sometimes if you loose power to the radio (dead/disconnected battery), or unplug the GM10-Aux converter, your stock head unit may not want to go to or stay on "Disc 1 Track 1" like it should. After getting some advice from other forum members I put thogther this little procedure that has worked for me every time so far:

-unplug GM10-Aux from Cor-Har changer cable
-let it sit overnight (a few hours at least)
-with car still off, plug in GM10-Aux
-let it sit for at least 10 minutes
-turn on car & radio, select changer on radio
-if it works (Disc 1 Track 1) you're done
-if it doesn't work, leave car running but turn off radio
-unplug GM10-Aux, then reconnect it
-turn on radio, it should work

Thanks again.

Hi Omega - thanks for the tip - my battery died in Jan this year and my GM10 / iPod setup didn't work since I got the new battery - I'd assumed the dealer knocked a wire or something but I didn't get round to taking it back in.

I tried your above steps from the FAQ (couldn't find the actual FAQ) and for the first time in over 10 months I actually heard music from the iPod over the vette's speakers!!

My problem is that it only lasted for about 30 seconds and the sound was quiet and distorted - as if there really is a dodgy connection somewhere. I tried disconnecting and reattaching etc, but the sound never came back (but my dash says Disc 1 Track 1 (which it never did before)).

I checked the GM10AUX and it's connections are all tight and look good - I realize it's a really vague problem but has anyone ever heard of this issue? Other than the CD changer tub area (where the GM10 PIE connector connects), is there anywhere else I could check for dodgy connections?

Also - could it be somehting to do with "let the vette sit overnight"? Is there some sort of memory / charge involved with that statement?

Thanks for any assistance!
