I'm not exactly sure where to start here. Using the forum, I managed to install a Kenwood 5120 (thanks!). I'm planning on taking the dash apart to add a HUD to my non bose C6. While I'm at it I figured I should work on the rest of the sound system. This is going to be my winter project...
I'm looking to upgrade the speakers (front, I've read to ditch the rears) and add an amp. I'm undecided on the whole sub thing...
I'm looking for some good components that don't break the bank!
I was thinking 300 to 500 for the first stage of my project. I was planning on doing front speakers and amp first and lay in the cables for the second amp and sub to be added later. Of course if I wouldn't get quality items, I would up my budget, but I'm hoping this would do it.
If you have your mind made up on not doing rear speakers I would put a quality set of 6.5" components up front( you can get good mounting plates from Komoman on this site) and add a JL Stealthbox 10' sub in the rear(there are others out there also). It doesnt take up alot of room and really adds richness to the sound. Power everything with a good 4 channel amp with 2 channels bridged for the sub. Your ears will thank you.
I installed JL C5-650's up front,JL XR-525 rear and Stealthbox.Powered by JL 450/4v2 and 300/2v2.
