Help me pick components for my C6
Music types are largely rock/top 40, with some hip hop and R&B in there, though it'll be a good mix of everything except country. I'm looking for good, clean sound, with a good balance to it. Nothing overly bright, and nothing overly boomy.
Power will come from Alpine PDX, either 4.100 or 4.150. I will also have a sub in the car, so that will cover the low end. Most likely Image Dynamics ID10V3 sub.
I'd like budget to be under $300, preferably under $200.
I've had good luck with Polk stuff in the past, so I'd like to check out Polk DB6501 and MM6501. Any other suggestions on what brands or models to give a listen to with this type of setup?
Thanks!
i have done one install with the new ones and they are NICE. either one shoudl treat you well, if you can find a sweet deal on mmc6500 then grab em
I'm going with Image Dynamics CXS64 components. Why? I've listened to these in my friends vehicles and enjoyed them. Plus, they are supposed to handle pretty good power RMS.

Anyway, I have my 5120 in the dash and working fine, and it's been there for several months. Waiting to go, I have a Madvette sub box, Alpine PDX 4.100, and I just purchased a set of MM6501 components today. The good thing about waiting is that you can score some smokin' deals; I snagged the last set of those 6501s from a vendor on Amazon for $189 shipped

What I still need: amp wiring kit (have patch cables already), sub, interior insulation kit, and speaker mounting plates. Oh, and speaker wire, I guess.
Optional: rear camera. I'm debating on this. I do not want to have to drill any holes, so I'll only do this if it can be done without drilling.

I would suggest DARVEX for your wiring needs. They have good products are reasonably priced and they ship fast.
Thanks for the wiring company tip.

For the rear camera, there are plenty of options that wouldn't require drilling a hole in the bumper itself, but depending on the camera you may have to drill through the plastic panel at the rear of the trunk. But that panel is completely hidden, so who cares. Check out this thread for the one I like and some other ideas.
Mark: by "right", do you mean driver's side, or passenger? Got a photo?
Ryan: I'm assuming you went with the components up front? How do you like them? What are you powering them with? Did you do any sound deadening? What about speaker mounts?
Thanks!

I ran 8 gauge wire to my amp that I attached to the bolt next to the fuse box:

It looks much neater with the fuse box lid down:

There's a hole next to the battery to run it through:

Then a small slit in the accordian gizmo and it's inside the cabin:

I have the Polk db6501 components mounted on custom plates and I'm quite happy with them. You could easily buy the speakers and plates for under $200. I have the crossover switch at 0, but have been considering popping the door panels off one more time to bump them down to -3. Check out my sig for a complete list of what I have.
