I just had a Pioneer HU put in my jeep along with an IPod connection. The IPod sits in the glove box and is not real convenient from the driver's seat. I am planning the same installation on the Vette as well.
What I have found, is that when I turn the ignition off, the power supply to the IPod turns off as well. However, the IPod remains on because the plug is still in it and ultimately the battery in the IPod goes dead and the unit requires a reset and won't work until this is done. The installer said that you have to disconnect the IPod every time you leave the vehicle. Is that what others do or am I being fed a line? If not, what do I do to fix it?
thats not right the ipod should shutoff with in a few minutes
Thanks for the response. I'll do a little more research with it and see whats going on. Either its not getting power from the HU or its not turning off because the battery is dying and I'm getting an error message. I have to reset the IPod and recharge it to get it going again.
