rear speaker replacement on a 04 hatch

rear speaker replacement on a 04 hatch
i have a bad rear speaker in my hatch that i want to replace with an aftermarket speaker. is this a fairly easy thing to do? do i have to splice wires or buy a connector?

metra 72-4568 is the model number for the harness to make it plug and play
the metal grill pops off and put in ur choice of 6.5" coaxial, i woudl recommend doing both the rears

circuit city/bestbuy or any audio place really just say i need a metra 72-4568 speaker harness if they look at u like ur an idiot ask if there is an installer u can talk to because any circuitcity/bestbuy SHOULD have these in stock
otherwise u can order online
Unless u plan on replacing other stereo stuff I would pick up a set of pioneer 6.5's should be must more then 50-60 bucks

Great info. Makes this sound really easy. I have same car as OP. Would I notice much improvement in the stock Bose H/U sound quality if I was to replace the factory rear speakers?

minimal, i think doing the 3.5s in the doors would be a better improvement i recommend a polk if u are looking for an upgrade for front and rear
pionners would be better then stock but prly not much better
