Default New stereo project

I'm looking to upgrade my stock 99 Corvette stereo this winter. My budget is around $1000. I can buy my own equipment. I have a suggested list of componants I am compiling that include

Double Din bezal -$275
DD Pioneer AVIC-F700-BT h/u -$450
antenna adapter -$15
GMCRV2 wire harness -$70
install brackets -$15
Pioneer DVC 12" Subfoofer w/dual 4 ohm voice coils-$62
I will make my own stealth box-$10
wire-already have
sound deadening material for trunk???

Mostly purchased new thru Corvette Forum vendors.

I have chosen to leave the stock speakers alone. If not satisfied with the audio, that can de the next upgrade.

THE ABOVE COMPONANTS HAVE BEEN CHOSEN FOR THEIR AFFORDABILITY AS I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A COMPETITION GRADE STERO. MY BENCH MARK IS THE STOCK BOSE UNIT IN THE 350Z

I have never installed a stereo before and was looking for some one local (NoMD, WV panhandle or NoVA) to advise and help with installation.

I have a heated garage and extra bedrooms if you come to me or I can come to you for a day. Also willing to pay for some labor and/or supply beers/meals!

PS. Where does the GPS antenna go?

PSS. I'm leaving for Florida next week but would like to start on this ASAP around 2/24 when I return.

Open to all opinions.........

If you have never done a Double Din conversion I would take it to some one that has it can be difficult to do for a beginner.

talk to c5bearsfan he makes a nice bezzle and has the bets prices

i install and i highly recommend the kenwood dnx5120 over the pioneer

also instead of the gmcrv you can get a peripheral sven2 for about 25 dollars if you arent against splicing 4 wires on the oem bose harness, will not effect going back to stock
