Anybody know anything about this amp?
Pioneer PRS-D4200F
I was looking for an amp and came across this one. Anybody have any opinions on this one good or bad?
I was also looking into the Alpine PDX-4.150.
The head unit I'm using is a Pioneer D880-PRS. I need to power some Infinity Kappa Perfect Component speakers.
Any other amp suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Have you any recommendations outside the Infinity's for high end component speakers? I tried the regual Infinity Kappas before with the stock HU and an Infinity amp. I don't quite remember the specs on the amp but it wasn't very exspensive so I don't believe it was anything special. I'm stepping up to the Kappa Perfects now with obviously the Pioneer Premier HU. I'm assuming that will be a world of difference. I just want the right amp this time to go along with the rest of the stuff.
I'm open to suggestions if you've got any.
I would recommend almost anything other than infinity kappa perfects. Those are some unrealistic, nasty sounding speakers. For $250ish you can do a lot better.
For "entry level price" speakers that don't sound entry level in any way:
Hertz, Focal polyglass (or access), or the new Pioneer PRS speakers.
For higher priced and somewhat better speakers, check out:
Try DLS, Focal Kevlar series, Dynaudio (These run about $1000 a set.)
Or for high end, Focal Utopia, Rainbow Reference (many thousands a set)
Or if you want to go active, you can get high end quality for entry level prices. That's a whole new ball of wax, though.

I'll second the PDX4.150. Well regarded amp for the price, nice compact size, and has good resale value if you change your mind. Personally I chose a used Zapco Ref 1000.4 and I'm very happy with it.

Can you, or anybody for that matter, explain what you mean by "active". Somebody mentioned to me that I should go with an "active system" but I don't know what that means exactly.
