Default Bad experience with sounddomain.com

I sent this message to their "contact us" department:

I placed an order for a Jensen IC8010 on January 15, 2002. I received my order on January 21, 2002. Upon inspecting the contents, I observed that the package containing the IC8010 did not contain any type of remote control. On the cardomain.com web page for Jensen CD receivers (http://www.sounddomain.com/shop/list/b/Jensen/t/CD%20Players), the description of the IC8010 is "CD Receiver with CD Changer Control and Remote", and the detail/overview page for that item (http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/JENIC8010) clearly states "Other goodies include loudness control, CD changer control, rear auxiliary input, and included infrared wireless remote control." In the SoundDomain.com Car Audio Price Guide (Fall 2001/Winter 2002) on page 11, The Jensen IC8010 is listed: "JENIC8010 Intellicar IC8010 - Intellicar CD Receiver with CD Changer Control and Remote".

Clearly, your store is selling this item with a remote. Upon contacting your store on January 22, 2002, I spoke with a gentleman to whom I explained the situation, and he told me that he would check on the item, verified my phone number, and said he would call me back. On January 23, 2002, I still had not heard back from your company, so I contacted your customer service department again. I was informed that this item does not include a remote, and that there is a typo on the web site. I was transferred to a gentleman named Forest, who informed me that it would not be possible to provide me with a remote control for this unit, and I would be able to return the unit. I asked him if he would send me another receiver with the features I was looking for (30x4 RMS output, CD, multi-color display, rotary volume control, auxiliary input) for the same price, to which he answered yes, if I could find one on the web site, to which I responded: "I already did: the IC8010".

Also, on the web page containing the description of the IC8010, under the heading "Accessories for the Jensen Intellicar IC8010", an item exists with the description "Wireless RF Remote Control for Jensen Intellicar Receivers".

I ordered this item from this merchant because of the list of features described on their web site. I based my decision to order this item on the assumption that 3 descriptions of this item would not be incorrect (their Jensen product web page, their IC8010 web page, hardcopy of their price guide). I will not order again from this merchant until this situation is corrected: either I receive my order completely, which includes all items described by the merchant as included with the product, or I am compensated for the missing items.

I agree, don't put up with lame excuses. Most of these companies make it so much of a hassle to return/exchange items, they are not concerned with customer service related issues. :mad

I agree... although, I've placed three orders with them and haven't had a problem. I'm not sticking up for anybody, but don't stop until you get satisfaction.
