Default Speaker Sizes for 95 C4?

Hey guys I've poured over thread after thread and read the stickied FAQ but can't seem to find a straight answer on what speaker sizes will fit in my 95 with the Bose Gold? I've decided to upgrade the head unit and want to replace all 4 speakers with aftermarket speakers. I'm guessing I'm going to have to butcher the Bose enclosures to get aftermarket speakers in there but what sizes should I be buying?

Right now I'm thinking that 4" speakers up front and 6.5" speakers should go in the rear.

Can I go larger to 6.5 in front and 6x9 in the rear and should I?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

ok in the back totally ditch the bose enclosure and a 6x9 will bolt right in

upfront its up to you u can either keep the bose box and go with a 4" i believe or rip the bose box out and go to a 5.25 or 6.5 with a mounting plate

Actually with eht e bose plates in back a 6.5" will fit

you can get a set of brackets from a 89-older that will house a 6x9 or get the speakr mounts from a NON-bose car..

6x9 in back and 4x6 in front

Thank you very much! I would like to do as little farting around as possible so are you saying I could fit a 4" right into the front Bose enclosures without modifying them to fit? If that's the case then that's what I want to do. If I have to modify it to get the 4" to fit then I might as well go to the 6.5" and a mounting plate.

I didn't know I could just remove the rear enclosures and fit 6x9s in there without any enclosure at all. That's great to hear.

I am selling the Eclipse HU and Infinity speakers out of my car, send me a PM if interested, or check out the for sale section. Also thinking of selling my Vrum Vrum faceplate.

So, what is the best size for the rear, 6.5 or 6x9?

I bought this 6.5 adaptor plate for the rear bose on my 89:

http://cgi.ebay.com/6-Rear-Speaker-A...d=p4634.c0.m14

Though, with the bose housing removed, I can mount 6x9 speakers.

There isn't alot of room, anyone know of which speakers fit? I'm guessing they would need to be low profile.

I am putting 8" subs in my rear compartments, so I'm sure just about any speaker will fit.

Ok, I guess I'll listen to both 6.5" and 6x9 and pick which ones sound best.
