Default Audison Bit 1 In C6 (PIX)

OK !!!
I just got the B1 in, and a quick setup.
I only had to do some minor modification to some plastic in the foot well of my 07 Corvette.
Other than that, it was plug and PLAY. Basically it just replaced the 3Sixty.2. Easy install, easy setup.
The sound is good.
I thought it was easy to navigate (user friendly) and so far no problems.
Some cool features are;
8 ch of output.
Phase can be changed at each ch.
Xover slopes to 48 db, Butterworth or Linkwitz.
Inputs for phone, Ipod and auxs.
I really like the USB cord to connect to the PC. No PITA BT connection like the 3Sixty.2. I would really like to use it with my Macbook though.

Wow cool new toy 48 db slopes are pretty serious, but they can also allow you to make tight transitions between drivers without overlap (IE midbass to midrange). They may also allow you to sneak your midbass HP point down a touch without adverse effects.

In your setup I don't think you can sneak your midrange HP too much lower than where the factory runs it at, it is recommended at 700hz (I would assume this is 12db) with a 475hz fs. With 48db I would say that 600hz is safe for sure, and much lower than that is pushing the envelope.

This comes back to the statements I made regarding midbass performance, and the additional impact that you gain, in what is the most difficult range to reproduce well in a car, by keeping the playback range as small as possible. Ideal is about 60-80hz (depending upon driver and location/enclosure etc) through 200-250hz. In your case 48db at 70hz through 500hz at say 18db would probably be a decent starting point.

It is also highly advised to "tune" in pairs for a 3 way setup. Tune your midbass to desired performance and playback, turn them off and move to midrange etc. Then fine tune with all speakers on (minus sub). Then come back and adjust the sub to blend with your front stage once you establish a ballpark crossver point between the midbass and midrange. Most of the blending is accomplished with slope changes and gain.

Hey thanks,
It is just rough tuned now, I started with the settings close to what the 3Sixty.2 was at.
It blows the 3Sixty away.
I am still using the passive Dyn xovers for the mids and tweets. HP 900hz.
So I'm still locked in there, although I can xover steeper than the Dyn Xover (6db).
The B1 will actively run a 3 way front stage with 2 more channels for sub or whatever.
With the 3Sixty there was always a slight pop, when the ignition button was depressed, after sitting over night.
That is gone with the B1.
So far it's all good.
Well gotta go play.

Default Xover ?

My domed mids are bandpassed @ 900 to 3500hz @ 6db. thru the Dyn passive xover.
They are also hipassed @ 900hz @ 24db thru the Bit 1.
My question is, at 900hz does the steeper 24db slope (of the B1) just overide the 6db slope (of the passive Dyn xover) ?
Or, do I get some kind of combination of the two slopes, a phase change, or something else happening ?

You are probably getting about 50db or so with the 2 in line like that. 24db is quite steep, so 48 means hardly a peep is coming out of them from 899 and down.

You may want to see if anything changes with say a 48db slope at 700hz or 800hz, which may let you sneak the midbass lowpass point down a bit to improve that frequency range. 48db gives you some options even with your passives still hooked up.

Until you spend some time listening and decide if you want another amp, I think that is the main adjustment you can make outside of the items we have discussed.
