Help.......I have a 73 stingray with an after market kenwood stereo...I reached up and adjusted my mirror and the wire for the map lights was bare and touched metal and I heard a pop and now my stereo won't play. It will light up (bakck lights) but I have no digital readout or sound. I have since fixed the bare wire touching metal but I still have no stereo. Thanks for any help or advice you can give....

There are two power wires for stereos, an always hot and an accessory/switched line. The constant hot wire typically has an inline fuse. That fuse may have popped. However since you have some power going to the unit the short may have fried the radio itself so be prepared for that possibility.
