I have a 99 with indash cassette and would like an indash cd that another member is selling. Is this a direct plug in swap? his car is also a 99. I do have rear 12 disk player if that matters. thanks ed
Pent, I get worried about if I ever have to take the head unit out. Thought I read that the BCM will shut the power to the radio if its disconnected improperly and you wont be able to get it back on?
I do know about the theft code procedure and I have it off on mine (no theft code).
Does that make it "idiot proof" as in can I just unplug it and plug it back in and all will be well?

I'm not sure if it'll never come back on, but there are a couple of near places to splice into to get the power you need. I did this when install my Alpine 9887 with Gm harness and SVEN2. I got the ipod functionality I wanted, but opted not for the sirius. I may change my mind later though. But for sirius/XM, I think you'll need to buy an optional receiver/antenna for the aftermarket. I don't think any radios come with these installed.
idk whats going on hear im getting confused here, but u can swap in anohter c5 radio no problem, concern is if the radio has theftlock enable u will need the code plain and simple. if no therftlock its plug n play literally
