Can someone confirm these numbers for 2005 C6 non Bose :
8" woofer in non Bose
10" in Bose
All I could find in searched archives were posts were 10" Bose system was mentioned
I already replaced fronts 3.5" and rears 5.25" speakers, but the real problem I have is with the driver side woofer, it's probably blown .. making strange noise.
Thnx in advance!

Yes, self-powered 10" in the Bose system, 8" powered by the Delco amp in the non-Bose system.
Would you happen to know the max depth of this 8" ?
You've got a good 3.5" of mounting depth there. But if you're thinking of putting a real sub in then think long & hard about that. You'd need to run a separate amp as the stock amp doesn't put enough power out for even the least power hungry aftermarket sub. Additionally doors make for lousy sub enclosures.
Are you happy with the results of changing out the 3.5" and 5.25" speakers? I am thinking of doing that also. I have the Bose system and turn the bass down below the 1/2 mark, so I don't think I need to mess with that.
Yest I am happy, it's the least expensive way to improve the sound in our cars.
I followed this thread posted by "TheKomoman" and his advise really helped me decided: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1562485130-post2.html
If you don't want to spend too much money, it's worth a try. Most members here went with Eclipse SE8233 and Eclipse SE8353
I have one more question to "TheKomoman" ... can you please advise of which 8" speaker / woofer to use ? I don't want to use any "power hungry" sub as you mentioned, but I have to change my 8" due to it's damage and I don't know which 8" speaker to buy .. 1-way, 2-way ? what frequency response ? etc.
Your help is greatly appreciated !! Thnx !!

Honestly I have no idea because my level of interest in what the stock speakers are is nil! You might want to post a WTB thread and see if you can pick up a stock 8" cheap from someone that replaced their system. I don't think you'll get a dramatic improvement of any sort using an aftermarket speaker so I'd try a stock replacement.
