I'm going to mount my new amp behind the passenger seat.( 08 coupe) Is there enough material for self tapping screws or should I put nuts on the back. Will I have to jack the car up to gain access to the other side of the incline behind the seat.
Thanks in advance Tom

i put mine back there, i am not sure how deep you could run a screw. the fuel tanks are right behind the seats so i wouldnt chance it. i did double stick velcro and 4 short screws that only went itno the carpet and padding. holds it in place just fine. I have seen someone who did a bracket that hangs from the top (where the back part starts) and it looked good. I planned on that but i keep both seats back all the time and forgot about it till now. good luck.paul
on not driving screws in there!!! The gas tanks are WAY too close to risk it.
What most folks have done is to glue a board under the carpet to the wall (scuff the glass and the board and gorilla glue it) and then attach the amp to that board through the carpet. Make sure you have short passengers!
You can also install blind nuts I think they are called? under the carpet. They have spikes that will dig into the carpet and they accept a bolt. Bolt your amp through small holes in the carpet, into these nuts. Home Depot should have them. They are used in furniture making, etc.
