Help Design My Stereo
All,
I need some help designing my new system. The only restriction(s) that I have is price
This is my current circumstance:
2000 Vert
Quiet Car throughout
Crazy Cowboy pre-cut sound deadening
Decided on DNX8100 with an IPOD connection
I listen mostly to jazz, some R&B and 80s rock
I want to upgrade my current aftermarket system but of course cost is the issue. Please make some recommendations on the best products in my price range. I'm prepared to go a little higher in all categories.
Front Speakers $350
Sub Woofer $250
Amps x2 $500 (one for inside speakers/one for sub)

IMO go with a pdx4.150 to power speakers and sub should be plenty of power and a small footprint

u could go to higher powered amps and a bigger sub if you want heavy hitting bass, but IMO something like this would sound amazing

This was my plan, but the sub that I "just had to have" limited my wiring options so I ended up running a second amp. Running the 1 PDX 4.150 frees up $500 for you to up the ante elsewhere if needed. I have an Alpine PDX 4.150 and a PDX 1.600. I have no complaints.
The Alpine PDX amps are small and underrated. My 4.150 is actually 4.174, so I could have put 174 watts to each set of door speakers (overkill) and 348 watts to the sub, with just that one amp. Also someone recently posted pictures of a really neat PDX install. You can see mine and some others in the, do you run in your system" sticky. HTH
