Default Finally Happy With Stereo!

I tried the Boston Acoustics in the front, I tried changing the Head Unit to an AVIC Z3. Still sounded like crap.
Yesterday I ripped her open again. Left the GMAH24 & Chimes connected to the Bose amp, disconnected the RCA's and Onstar, and ran speaker wires directly from the Head Unit.
I installed JL Audio TR650Csi in the doors, and 6 1/2" Infinity Kappas behind the seats.
Just on HU power alone, this setup ROCKS! I have a vert, and it can blow you out of the car. The JL's sound great, plenty of low end, and the Infinitys behind the seats, WOW....
Don't let anyone tell you that you don't need the speakers behind the seats. When you run them as seperate channels, they rock.

Now I have another reason to want to get into my vert.

The reason to avoid rear speakers is more for an imaging standpoint than anything else. If you don't care about stereo imaging, then by all means, the extra volume from rear speakers is nice. Especially in a drop top.

If I had the coupe, I probably would've gone subs in the rear, but with the drop top, the speakers behind your head come in handy.
As for the JL components, for not having a crossover, these speakers sound great. They use an in-line capacitor to match the highs to the lows.
Hey for $250 worth of speakers and a $1600 Nav, I'm way ahead of the game.
