stereo wiring
Can a c5 stereo, am/fm/cd, Bose amp, and front and rear speakers be tested on a bench?
I hooked up every wire except for...
orange wire from HU to DLC schematics in data link
green power antenna, supply voltage, ant relay
wires that go to the remote unit
Clock works, cd's eject, but no display or sound.
If all I can use in another car is the speakers, do I hook up 2 orange wires to 12v
2 black/white wires to ground
remaining two wires to stereo output?

I may be confusing C5 and C6, but here goes....
I don't think you can run it on a bench. The stock radio doesn't have a 'trigger' wire to turn it on like most radios do. The orange DLC wire that you don't have connected to anything normally "listens in" on the serial data communications line in the car. When the PCM sends a certain signal out over that serial data line the radio "hears it" and turns on until it gets the signal to turn off. The radio then has a +12V output that turns on the antenna and bose amps (the green wire you don't have connected to anything).
The 3.5" and 6.5" (or 5.25" in a vert) speakers are just standard 4 ohm speakers so they can be used in any system with a low powered amp, but there's no kinda about it, they definitely suck.
You can find the C5 radio schematics by clicking on the 'my photos' link under my avatar. They might help you out a bit.
So the HU and Bose amp only work in a c5 when connected through the computer. I'll post those on the for sale forum.
I am looking for a basic sound system. If I buy a aftermarket stereo, As long as I can hook it up to these speakers, I'm OK. Rear speakers are just two wires, LR+, LR-, RR+, RR-. Front speakers with the built in amps are 2 orange pos., 2 bl/wh neg. ground, I think yellow brown on one side and black grey on the other side go Rf+, and -, and LF+ and -.
At least I get to use something.
