Default Touch Screen sensitivity on AVIC-F900BT?

Hello, experts
I just went to Bestbuy to take a look at the Pioneer F900BT and the Kenwood DNX5120.
I played with both units for a good 10minutes.
I don't know if it's just that display unit, but the Pioneer unit was horrible in terms of touchscreen recognition.
I literally had to press with my nails to make it recognize the touch screen menus.
The touch screen issue was something I've experienced before with my AVIC-D1 I had a while ago.
Other than that, the design, LCD screen resolution, user interface and graphics all looked much better.

I really like the Pioneer unit, can anyone vouch for this HU?
I just want to know if these issues I've seen apply to all Pioneer units or if it was just an isolated case.

Thanks,

Dan

Kenwood units were fine. Very sensitive.
It's the Pioneer unit that I've had trouble with.
I've had a AVIC-D1 unit for about 2 years in my old VW, and the touchscreen started to not recognize my inputs after about a year.

But thanks for verifying, guys. I'll look into the Pioneer units.
Plus, they look 10x more cool than the Kenwood ones, IMO.

yes, the pio has a sort of "delay" and is not as responsive as the kenwood. BUT...... i "HEAR" that version 3.0 (or what ever they call it) will address this issue.

I agree with you though, the pioneer is a nicer looking unit. You may want to check out the premier line, the f90bt as it has higher volt preouts, and a 2 year warranty as opposed the pioneer f900bt with 2.2 volt preouts, and a 1 year warranty

Exactly. That's what I noticed with the Pioneer units.
If they had the touch screen of the Kenwoods, it'll be a no brainer.
That slight delay between button inputs are a major turn off.

Also, thanks for the info on the 90BT.
I was wondering what the difference was between the 900BT.
I'll definitely get the 90BT if I go with the Pioneer.
Thanks,

Dan

the only differecne in function is the pre outs (if you plan to add amps). Other than that exact same thing with the excpetion of the 2 year warranty (if boutght from a premier dealer, if on ebay, no warranty)

You really cant go wrong with eather units I have a 90BT in the Z06 and love it but i plan on getting a Kenwood 7140 to put in my Daily drive which has a 90BT in it now. Just want to go with something different and the Kenwoods would be my only other choice.

Does the 7140 have high resolution screen like the 90BT?
Or is it pretty much the same quality as the 5120?
The graphics and details were much better on the Pioneer, IMO.

Not too sure if I should sacrifice better Nav and functions for a better looking screen.
