hello folks,
I'm ready to purchase audio equipments for my C6, but can't decide which amp to go with.
I've already ordered an Alpine type-R 10" sub and I'm building the box in my garage as I type.
Still not decided on the front components, but I'll be getting something that'll require 100W per channel.
Given the fact the alpine sub needs 500W, what kind of amp should I get?
I'm looking to get away with a single 3 or 4 channel amp, nothing too exotic, but no garbage either.
Any opinions? price range around $500 would be great.
Thanks,
Why don't you get an Alpine PDX4.150? I know its a little pricey, but you could find it on the internet close to 500. We use it on all systems that require a small footprint (1 amp). This amp blows away most amps twice the size.

Initially I had this impression that the PDX 4.150 won't be sufficient enough to drive the sub.
After further research and reading all the reviews, I think I'll be happy with the Zuki amp and I decided to give it a try.
I know it's a lot of money to "give it a try", but I'm also excited to find out.

4.150 puts out a lot of power when bridged. I believe someone on the DIYMA forum tested about 450 watts on it.
I ran an IDMAX 12 with the channels bridged, it did pretty well.
Zuki amps are great, just remember there's no protection circuitry.
Kale, what exactly does that mean? that the amp could over heat?
No, according to some test reports, it runs pretty cool. No overheating issues so far.
But the amp won't tolerate any mis-wiring or too low of an impedence.
Not sure that's what kale meant, but at least that's what I've been informed.

Go with the JL Audio Hd 600/4( a little more but your car should be worth it?) OR the Kenwood KAC X4R its cheaper but should suffice.
I've got a TRU Billet B-4100 that I'd let go for 600 shipped to your door. The amp is pristine "mint" condition, and would crap all over any JL, or Alpine equipment available made today (no offense fellas, it's the truth).
It comes as new, in the box, and is a thing of beauty....

That's some serious equipment.
Thanks for the offer, but I already have the Zuki Eleets sitting in my living room waiting to get mounted.
The fiberglass enclosure is taking longer than I expected.
