Default c4 wiring harness?

Ok, I just did an install on my camaro with no problems this weekend. But im putting in a new headunit in my 1993 corvette, I have all the parts amp, speakers, wiring harness and so on. But the wiring harness i have does not fit the two plugs I pulled out of stock bose gold headunit. I read the faqs and cant find the answer. I Have the whole dash apart with dash pad and everything. Please help.

Your car is a '93, correct? So no airbag on the passenger side? If so the CDM is under the dash on the drivers side of the car. Just read the first post in the FAQ by Andy Bogus. There is a part called "tips on C4 receiver module removal". You do not need to remove the module (it is a bitch to get out), but you can pickup all of the wires that you need to hook up your new radio.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the eclipse, that went in my 01 ss camaro, but anyways yes its a 1993 but I still don't see the turner the dash, i have the whole dash pad off and everything else off. I still cant find it. How big is it? And does the harness have work with the wires or do i just splice power, ground, and illumination?

And finally where did you plug the harness? In de CDM?

I have the same problem in my 91 C4. I have bought the harness but it doesn´t fit with the connectors of my original Bose...

Thanks

The radio Receiver Module is under the passenger side dash.

You unplug the stock radio wire harness from the right end of the receiver module and then plug those into the New wire harness you just bought.
You'll have to lengthen the wires about a foot and a half so, it could reach the new stereo head unit.

You'll also, have to install two 1/2 watt resistors into the stock radio wire harness to eliminate the "SYS" light from flashing. It's easy, just read the C4 Audio FAQ.

z28wiz,

You might want to scale down your huge pictures. It makes reading your posts a lot easier since you don't have to scroll the screen left to right too read it. You could use www.PhotoBucket.com to post your pictures. just upload your pictures there and copy and paste the [img] tag on the pictures and paste them in your thread.

Thanks GKK!!!!

I have found the Receiver Module and I have tested an aftermarket radio successfully . (connecting the three connectors into muy new harness)

But I have two doubts:
1. I can´t find the antena in the recevier Module. Where is it? The other three connectors are near the fuse box, but I don´t see the antena there.

2. I have tested an afermarket radio but I don´t see the "SYS" light. In that case, do I need the resistors? I don´t know if that light should have appeared or could appear later...

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

The antenna is in the rear of the receiver module, you'll need the GM antenna adapter to connect to your new headunit.

I copied this from the C4 audio FAQ: Using a long screwdriver, pop out the antenna lead from the silver receiver box. There is one clip in plain site that needs to be popped loose. There is a screw mount holding it closer to the dash. No way to get that one. A short antenna extension and GM adapter will give plenty of reach to the new HU.

If the dash doesn't display the flashing "SYS", then you don't have to add the resistors.

An easy way to find the antenna is to remove the A/C vents on the pass. side, and then look down though the hole. You should see it on the left side of the CDM.

Good morning.

I know this is an old thread but...

I'm trying to replace the head unit my 93 vette. Can locate radio receiver module. Look under dash on passengers side but not having much luck locating. Any help (or pictures) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

If your car has an passenger side airbag, it is in the cubby behind the seat on the passenger side of the car.

Good luck,

Randy
